Nokia is a commodity phone maker. The average price of their phones is less than the average price of all phones sold globally. Mass producing cheap phones is what they're good at, so it makes perfect sense for them to try to get into mass producing cheap netbooks (although their offering isn't exactly cheap at the moment).

Psh, we did that over 50 years ago...Oh, right. Their leader is ***** insane. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if he decided to target South Park Studios first.

“Leaving aside the actual case, since it's been discussed to death already, I find it interesting that a self described "anarchist" (real-world definition: wants no government at all) would also be a social worker (the definition of a government employee) married to an "urban planner" (likewise). Something tells me these are the same kinds of people who like to constantly (and dishonestly) conflate capitalism and corporatism. If you're going to be a leftist, why not be honest and SAY you're a leftist???
This is a sign of the policy driven, government as a business world we live in now. Industry is supposed to meet the demands of consumers not dictate them. I our only hope is to ride this sort of thing out until the current politicians grow old and die and a younger more relevant generation takes office. How can an international band of whiny politicians and lobbyist's enforce something like this on the public and the ISP's? Can someone explain the ACTA's actual authority?
