@spyderveloce:Lebanon is considered an Arab country because they speak, you know, ARABIC.I also know of a lot of Lebanese people who don't want to be called "Arab" - not because of what you said - but rather due to not wanting the stigma, racial profiling, racism, etc., that comes with being know as an Arab. This is especially acute in the younger generation. I'm nowhere near Lebanon yet I went through the same phase when I was younger - particularly due to cruel things said by other kids in school. Northern Arabs (including Lebanese) are caucasian enough (read: white) to pass off as white or something other than Arab. Long ago, before all the blatant racism towards the middle east, you wouldn't hear of what you are talking about, at least not nearly as much. Now? "Lebanese people do not like being called Arab" ... is understandable, and lamentable.
All marketing is spam to some degree. Its success is determined by how much money it brings in relative to cost, not by whether its welcome. Spam will only end if people stop buying stuff which is advertised that way. Being angry at spammers generally doesn't accomplish much, we should direct our frustrations at the tools who buy from spam, since they might actually stop.

Extremism is always bad. It encourages an 'ends justify the means' type of political process and distorts the public dialogue in a fallacious manner by focusing on one extreme or the other as the only viable options.This is a moderate country that ignores middle of the road options because the congressional system rewards seniority with power and that kind of seniority can only be achieved in the most politically extreme districts..
