It's hard to grasp that Mars is an entire planet with varying regions. In part because it, along with every other planet we've photographed Mars looks so homogeneous and I think, because we've been fed this idea:Tatooine is all desertHoth is all iceDagobah is all jungleEndor is all forestWe will not fully realize that other planets are full, complete, complex worlds until it becomes routine for large numbers of us to visit the planets and sink our toes in the sand. We are primal beasts who need to experience to believe and yet are easily fooled by our own experiences. We have a long way to go..
You are really clueless. The USA wasn't dancing alone. In Iran, the KGB and the CIA were fighting a full scale covert war. The Iranians in the know commented that there was really no difference between the two groups. The CIA thought it had the upper hand with the Shah, but the KGB won the battle in the long run by sequestering the Ayatollah Khomenei until the opportune time. This is why Putin, formerly of the KGB, is such great friends with the current Iranian regime spawned by Khomenei. The only covert actions that have backfired on us are the poorly planned and executed ones which end up being the ones we know about. Your attitude is what the left has used to castrate our intelligence services to the point where it was useless to prevent 9-11.!

The outcome of a state election can't be taken as a bellwether for the national mood. Gubernatorial races are about state issues and the policies and personalities of the individual candidates, since governors manage the state and don't vote on national legislation like Congressional members do. And in this case, Creigh Deeds was a pitiful campaigner who failed to convince Virginians that he'd make a better governor. Considering that Virginia is the purplest state in the country, his loss was to be expected.?
Doesn't anyone fence goods the old-fashioned way anymore? |

Not if you can't afford high premiums or have a pre-existing condition.

Watching that made me totally disgusted. His mother(if she can even be called that), is so absorbed in herself, that she must explain how inconvenienced she is to see her own son. His friend(if she can even be called that), seems to want be the focal point of his life. Even though she has no interest in him, she needs to prove to herself that she has more to offer to a young man than video games, but without actually offering him anything. His mother doesn't want to be his mother. His girlfriend doesn't want to be his girlfriend. Yet, neither has any qualms about questioning his sanity. The most egregious part for me though, has to be the so called psychologist. He encourages Peter's friends and family to issue ultimatums and has the audacity to suggest spending time, isolated, with legitimate addict, in the wilderness , will help Peter get in touch with reality .Peter needs to learn the lessons his father never did. He needs to stop allowing himself to be domineered by women.

No, it doesn't miss the point: the others *are* doing something different... they're focusing on superior hardware, more efficient user interfaces, more open application stores... obviously not all of these apply to every competitor, but they're pushing the envelope and inevitably failing because what people *see* is a slightly stuttery phone with a few inconsistent colours that's "really cool, but it just isn't an iPhone".

@arpad"Sorry guys but science isn't done by consensus and never has been"Are you serious? Really?!? Science is ALL about consensus (it's called peer review by the way), any theory even one you believe "proven" is brought before the scientific community who scrutinize it for errors in the data. If you don't believe that science is about consensus (peer review) and observations (data), then what DO you believe it is? Do you subscribe to no data and simply stating something is true regardless of what anyone else thinks? |
